The 64th Annual Fall Foliage Festival kicks off in North Adams. This year’s theme is There’s No Place Like Home…in the Berkshires! A celebration of the 80th anniversary of the film, The Wizard of Oz.

The following is a schedule of events taking place during the Fall Foliage Festival, beginning Thursday, Sept. 26th and concluding with the 64th Annual Fall Foliage Parade on Sunday, October 6, 2019.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 - Movies Under the Stars at Colegrove Park Presents ‘The Wizard of Oz’

Fall Foliage Children’s Races and Family Fair

Race Registration: 10:00AM - 10:45AM / Races at 11:00AM / Awards ceremony at 12:00PM The northern Berkshire United Way, Youth Center Inc., and City of North Adams present this annual foot race and family fair. This event is free and open to all ages, with categories for various age groups, and awards for group winners. Best for ages 10 years and under. The fair includes obstacle courses, games, give-a-ways, crafts, and magic! Children’s Fair booths are hosted by local community organizations. Awards are sponsored by Greylock Federal Credit Union.

Joined by her daughter Moriah, Bernice Lewis turns to the Ladies Auxiliary Ukulele Orchestra and perform their first Sunset Serenade. With almost four decades of performing festivals, concert halls, coffeehouses, colleges, along with a half dozen acclaimed CDs, Bernice Lewis has built a solid national fan base. She is also a published poet, a producer and an educator extraordinaire. Lewis has been a featured performer on NPR's Mountain Stage program, as well as the Kennedy Center. She is The Artist Associate in Songwriting at Williams College, MA.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3 - Fall Foliage Ziti Supper

St. Elizabeth's of Hungary will hold its annual ziti supper at the Parish Center. Dinner includes ziti and meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and a beverage. Desserts will also be available.

Registration begins: 4:30PM / Lineup: 5:00PM / Parade: 5:30PM
Children from throughout the Northern Berkshire's are encouraged to make costumes and enter the parade. This year's theme is "There’s No Place Like Home in the Berkshires." Participants must arrive at the corner of Main and Eagle streets at 5pm. Parade begins at 5:30PM and will proceed west on Main St. to City Hall. Ribbons will be given to all participants. Group and float winners will be invited to participate in the Fall Foliage Parade on Sunday, October 6, 2019. Please note that groups should be 10 or less children, as there are only 10 medals that will be awarded per category/prize. Awards are sponsored by Greylock Federal Credit Union.

The Farmers Market is one of the most pet-friendly places in the city! Help us celebrate the Dog Days of Fall by bringing your dog to the market. Special market vendors will include animal rescue agencies and animal-themed products. All dogs are encouraged to participate. Owners are encouraged to make costumes and enter their dogs into this parade. This year's parade theme is "There’s No Place Like Home in the Berkshires.” Categories are: funniest, best duo (owner and dog), best group (dogs), best small dog, best medium-sized dog, and best large dog. Prizes will be awarded following the parade and ribbons will be given to all participants. Dog parade winners will be invited to participate in the Fall Foliage Parade.
